- Bob was born circa 1833 in Virginia or possibly May 1828.
- He married Dilcy, daughter of Peter and Darcas, on 20 April 1861 in Montgomery County, Texas, at Greenwood plantation, near old Danville.
- On Saturday, 20 April 1861, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Dilcy & Mr Powell's Bob got married."
- Following emancipation, Bob adopted the name Robert B. Byrd.
- He married Dilcy, daughter of Peter and Darcas, on 14 September 1867 in Montgomery County, Texas, with John E. George, JP, officiating.
- Bob became a widower at the between 1867 and 1870 death of his wife Dilcy.
- Bob appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1870 in Madisonville PO, Madison County, Texas. Other members of the household included David, James, John Lindley, John Lindley and Clarisey.
- He married Unknown (?) say 1884.
- Bob became a widower at the say 1890 death of his wife Unknown (?)
- He married Henrietta (?) on 5 February 1892 in Madison County, Texas.
- Bob and Henrietta (?) appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1900 in Madison County, Texas. Other members of the household included Richmond Byrd, Aaron Byrd and Bob Byrd. Also in the household was orphan Jake Jordan, age 14.
- He was a farmer, according to the 1900 census.
- Bob died on 15 September 1903 in Connor, Madison County, Texas.
