- Following emancipation, Alice adopted the name Alice Williams.
- She married Cummings, son of Bob and Kizzy, on 30 September 1866 in Montgomery County, Texas, with John E. George, JP, officiating.
- Cummings and Alice appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1870 in Danville PO, Montgomery County, Texas. Other members of the household included Willis Sampson and Robert B. Sampson. Son Robert is identified as Bledsoe, and Willis also is enumerated with his grandmother Kizzy Sampson in Houston in the household of Saten and Matilda Wood.
- Cummings and Alice appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1880 in Montgomery County, Texas, enumerated as Samson and Alice Cummings.. Other members of the household included Willis Sampson, Robert B. Sampson, Walker Sampson, Cummings Sampson, Lillie Sampson and Pittsaline? Sampson.
