The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Friendship United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Avinger Funeral Home of Holly Hill, will be in the church cemetery.
[:TB:] Mr. Cross was born in Cross, a son of Joseph P. Cross and Addie Lea Russell Cross. He was a graduate of Wofford College and the University of South Carolina. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a past president of the Moncks Corner Rotary Club and Cross Lions Club, and a past vice president of the Huguenot Society of South Carolina. He was the founder and past president of the Berkeley County Historical Society. He was a member of the National Education Association, the American Legion, the S.C. Historical Society, the Sons of the American Revolution and Friendship United Methodist Church.
