- The following appeared on 28 September 1911 in The Dallas Morning News: The body of James Moore, a commercial salesman of prominence and wide travel, especially in foreign lands, who died in the Philippine Islands two months ago, will arrive here [Fort Worth] via the Texas and Pacific at 7 o'clock Thursday morning, and will be received by L. P. Robertson, undertaker. The survivors of the family are the widow, Mrs. Sigur Burleson Moore, a son, Dr. R. W. Moore, and a daughter, Mrs. W. R. Thompson, all of Fort Worth. The funeral will be held from the residence of Dr. W. R. Thompson, 505 Henderson street, Friday morning at 10 o'clock, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Moore for a number of years made Galveston his home. Drawing from his experiences and observations Mr. Moore for several years furnished letters on travels for The Galveston-Dallas News Mazazine, under title of "Travels of a Texan."
