- The following appeared on 10 January 1879 in the St. Charles Times: Just before going to press we received the sad intelligence of the death of Mrs. James Small, of Elba, which occurred early on Wednesday morning last. The cause of death is unknown to us, save that it was accompanied by a pain in the side. Four little children are thus left motherless. Mrs. Small was well, we are informed and doing her usual housework the day previous and her death was a sudden and unexpected blow to her family, who will have the sympathy of their many friends. Mrs. Small was the sister of Mr. T. Asbridge, and granddaughter of Mrs. Parrott of this city.

- The following appeared on 14 June 1947 in The Bismarck Tribune: (Biographcal Sketch) Thomas William Asbridge (Wisconsin 1854 - Bismarck 1919) Farmer and rancher, member of Bismarck lodge IOOF, Bismarck lodge AOUW and Modern Woodman. He came to Bismarck in 1880 and filed on a homestead on the Fort Rice reservation. In 1884 he married Miss Jennie Swanson (Minnesota 1867 - Bismarck 1893).
To them four sons and one daughter was born:
Thomas William is a rancher near Leith, who married Miss Anne Johnson, daughter of a pioneer family of Sims. To this union two sons and two daughters were born. Thomas William resides at 809 9th St; Jeanette (1916-1934); Robert Arion resides on the ranch at Leith, and Doris Anne now Mrs. James Curran 809-½ 9th St. All four are graduates of Bismarck high school. Both sons are veterans of World War II.
Irvin Cecil, the second son is in the ranching business near Leith. He is a batchelor.
The third son Alexander Eugene (1888-1938). He married Miss Ruth Gomble. To them one son and four daughters were born: Emma Marie, now Mrs. Ralph Zidel, Bellville, N. J; Alexander Eugene is farming the old original homestead near Bismarck; Jenny, Patricia, Beverly and Barbara reside at Bismarck. All are graduates of Bismarck high school.
The fourth son, Adrian LeRoy, rural Bismarck, married Miss Louise McGohey. To them two sons and two daughters were born: Donald the oldest resides in Bismarck; Margaret, now Mrs. Larson, resides in Biamarck, Ruehl, rural Bismarck and Joanne, Bismarck. All are graduates of Bismarck high school. Both sons are veterans of World War II. The only daughter died in infancy, Louise E. (1891-1891). - He was interred at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck, Burleigh County, North Dakota.
