• The following appeared on 2 August 1944 in The Binghamton Press: DeForest Babcock. DeForest Babcock, 56, of 69 Mason Avenue died suddenly at the Binghamton Medical Depot, Tuesday morning. He is survived by his wife, Selena. The body was removed to the George H. Scholderer Home for Funerals, 269 Chenango Street. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Friends may call at the funeral home today and Thursday from 7 to 9 p. m.

       The funeral of Deforest Babcock will be held at the George H. Scholderer Home for Funerals, 269 Chenango St., Friday at 10:30 a. m. The Rev. Paul C. Price will officiate. Burial will be in Walton.
