William Hartmann

William Hartmann was born in January 1827 in Preußen.
He married Anne Marie Jud, daughter of Morand Jud and Anne Marie Argast, circa 1863.

According to this record, William was born in Prussia, Adolph and Mary in Canada, Joseph and Emil in New York, and the others in Ohio.
He was a boot- and shoemaker, according to the 1870 census.
William Hartmann and Anne Marie Jud appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1880 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, at 466 Lorain Street. Also in the household were children Emile (15), Annie (13), Gustave (12), Bertha (11), Emma (8) and Charles (2), not yet recorded. All were born in Ohio except Emile, who was born in New York.
He was a saloon keeper, according to the 1880 census.
William Hartmann and Anne Marie Jud appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1900 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, at 34 Kinsman Street. Also in the household were children Emma (18) and Charlie (22), and grandchildren Amelia (12) and Frank (10) Eble, not yet recorded.
He was a saloon keeper, according to the 1900 census.
Anne Marie Jud became a widow at his death.
William Hartmann died on 18 August 1908 at age 81 in Cleveland, Ohio.
