  • Magdalena Karl arrived in the Port of New York on 14 May 1908, aboard the SS Barbarossa, having departed Bremen on the 2nd. According to the passenger manifest, her father was Peter Karl of Kettenheim, and her passage was paid by her uncle Georg Surber.

The two boarders in the household apparently were bakery employees, and servant Lena Karl was a daughter of Kate's brother Peter.

         The ad appeared 3 times, on Friday the 6th, and Saturday and Sunday. Likely it was placed by Kate Karl while living with her sister Lena Dopsch.
