- The following appeared on 14 November 1901 in The Attica News: On Tuesday orning at 9:30 o'clock the marriage of Miss Barbara Schum to Mr. William Geise, both of Attica, was solemnized at St. Vincent's church, nuptial high mass being celebrated by the pastor, Rev. J. F. Gardiner. The attendants were Miss Amelia Schum, cousin of the bride, and Mr. Henry Geise, brother of the groom. After a short weeding [sic] journey, Mr. and Mrs. Geise will reside at Attica Center.

- The following appeared on 30 September 1943 in The Attica News: Mrs. Barbara Geise, after having been ill for nearly a year at her home, 15 Genesee street, died at 7:15 p. m., Thursday, Sept. 23, 1943. She was born the daughter of the late Andrew and Sophia Lippold Schum at Bennington, December 31, 1879.
Services were held for her at her home at 9 a. m. Monday with Rev. Capistran Petrie, her nephew, and Rev. Bernard P. Gill and Rev. James W. Colligan, officiating. Burial ws in the family plot in St. Vincent's cemetery.
Mrs. Geise is survived by her husband William, to whom she was married Nov. 12. 1901, at Attica; two sons, Leland and Oliver, both at home and two sisters, the Misses Mary and Veronica Schum, both of Buffalo. - William Geise died on 15 January 1949 at age 72.
