         A former policeman with the New York Central Railroad, Mr. Cady was a member of Danforth Lodge 957 F & AM.
         Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alta M. Broadbrooks Cady; two sons, Donald of Liverpool and Percy L. Cady Jr. of Darien Center; two daughters, Mrs. Genevieve Newcombe of Hillier, Ont., Canada, and Mrs. Beatrice Ware of Pittsburgh, Pa; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
         Private services will be at the convenience of the family at the Greenleaf Funeral Home, 503 W. Onondaga St., the Rev. John Heister officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

         Cady, of Valley Falls, died Sunday (Jan. 9, 1994) in Mary McClelland Hospital, Cambridge, after a long illness.
         Born in Syracuse, he was an Eagle Scout and attended the School of Forestry at Syracuse University. As a young man, he moved to Darien, where he was self-employed. An inventor, he was granted a patent for a sheet-metal bending brake. He retired in 1980 from Strippit Inc. in Akron after working there for 15 years.
         He was a member of Darien United Methodist Church.
         He is survived by his wife, the former Evelyn Sierk; a son, Bruce of Plano, Texas; a daughter, Dr. Susan Stover of Valley Falls; two sisters, Beatrice Ware of Pelham, Mass., and Genevieve Newcombe of Bellville, Ont; and four grandchildren.
