  • The following appeared on 6 December 1910 in the Daily Press: Following a long and painful illness, Mrs. Elizabeth Bacon Remington, 52 years old, the wife of Mr. Cornelius G. Remington, a Hampton architect, died in her residence, 173 Linden Avenue, at 3 o'clock yesterday morning. Mrs. Remington was a sufferer with an incurable disease and her death had been expected for the past ten days by the members of her family.
         Mrs. Remington was born in Westport, NY, but came here fourteen years ago. She had made a number of friends by her many attractive qualities and was a member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church at Old Point. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Louisa C. Bacon, of Westport, and three sisters, who also live in New York.
         Simple funeral services were conducted from the residence at 5:30 o'clock last evening and later the remains were taken to Old Point and sent to Westport for burial. Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Taylor, Mr. Remington and Miss Catherine Remington accompanied the body to New York.
         The following acted as pallbearers; Messrs. J. J. Loughran, Frank G. Roche, C. W. Betts, Frank L. Small and Messrs. Murphy and Macklin, of Newport News.
