- He married Frances Rieger, daughter of Jacob Rieger and Rosalie Nuss, circa 1855, and Frances' brother Frank married Friedrich's sisters Caroline and then Friederike.
- Friedrich Regenhardt died on 18 November 1895 at age 67 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, New York, at North Main Street.
- Frances Rieger became a widow at his death.
- The following appeared on 19 November 1895 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: F. Regenhardt, proprietor of the National Hotel on North Main Street, which he has managed for the past 25 years, died here last night. The deceased was 66 years old and was a charter member of Branch No. 2, C. M. B. A., and was one of the best-known residents of the North End of the city.
The funeral will be held from the Church of the Sacred Heart tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. The members of Branch No. 2 will attend in a body and the burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery. - The following appeared on 20 November 1895 in The Buffalo Courier: (Niagara Falls, Nov. 19) Frederick Regenhardt, one of the oldest residents of this city, died this morning at the National Hotel on North Main Street, of which he had long been proprietor, after a long illness, aged 66 years. He was born in Hanover, Germany, but had resided here over 40 years. Besides 10 children, two sisters, of whom one, Mrs. William Drewer, lives in Buffalo, survive him. The funeral will be held at the Church of the Sacred Heart to-morrow at 10:30 o'clock and Branch No. 2, C. M. B. A., of which deceased was a charter member, will attend in a body.
