  • The following appeared in a local newspaper: Former Grand Island resident Mark D. Dearlove, 54, of Parker, Colorado passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 30, 2006. Mark was a member of the Grand Island High School Class of 1969. A postal service career took him from the Island to San Clemente, California where he resided for several years. He carved a niche for himself as a self-employed rancher in Denver while still working for the United States Post Office. Mark was an avid golfer, a Buffalo Bills fan and a respected businessman. He is survived by his wife, Sherry and sons, Wyatt and Drew. He was the beloved son of Jean D. (Clare H.) Jones of Grand Island and the late Raymond A. Dearlove. Also survived by brothers John Dearlove of Texas, Dane Dearlove of Atlanta, and Todd Dearlove of West Seneca and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mark was formerly married to Cheryl Witnauer Dearlove of California. A private funeral service was held.
