- Wilma Jean Hannigan was born on 19 August 1927 in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio.
- She married Charles Warren Groesbeck on 12 June 1945 in Lucas County, Ohio, by license issued the same day, with R. O. Stevens, JP, officiating. At the time of their marriage, the bride was living in Erie, Michigan, and the groom in Flint.
- Wilma Jean Hannigan died on 30 March 2002 at age 74 in Erie, Monroe County, Michigan.
- The following appeared on 1 April 2002 in The Monroe Evening News: (Erie) Wilma Jean Groesbeck, 74, of Erie, formerly of Temperance, died at 7:35 p.m. Saturday in her daughter's home.
Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Bennett Funeral Home, Erie location, is in charge of arrangements.
Born Aug. 19, 1927, in Toledo, she was the daughter of Frederick and Sophia (Leslie) Hannigan.
She was employed as a cook for more than 20 years. She most recently worked for the Bedford Elderly Care, retiring in 1997.
She enjoyed gardening.
Surviving are four sons, Clinton (Cathy) and Gary (Chris), both of Erie and Charles Jr. and John (Dee), both of Toledo; two daughters, Sandra (Andy) Smith of Erie and Barbara Fisher of Texas; a brother, Eddie (Magda) Hannigan of California; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Freddie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Memorial Hospice.
