  • He married Caroline Hoffman, daughter of Frederick Hoffman and Louisa Wagner, on 13 August 1924 in Port Clinton, Ottawa County, Ohio, with Rev. F. Lambertus officiating, at the parsonage of the St. John's Lutheran Church.

Second-st. will be Saturday at 2 p. m. from St. John's Lutheran Church, the Rev. John Braun, officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
         Mr. Petersen was a retired businessman and director of the East Clinton Lumber and Coal Co., and was well-known in this locality. He had been active in the Odd Fellows lodge for 59 years.
         He is survived by his widow, Caroline P. Petersen, sons, Fred, Edward, Benedict, here, and Christopher, in Boone, Iowa; a daughter, Mrs. Helena Hostrup, here; step-daughter, Mrs. Ida Sandergeld, here, and step-son, John Pautlitz, Chicago; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The J. A. Neidecker Co. has charge of arrangements.
