  • The following appeared on 29 October 1909 in the Ottawa County Herald: Mrs. Jos. Pautlitz, one of the old residents of this place, died at her home in East Clinton Last Tuesday night at 11 o'clock. Mrs. Pautlitz was an invalid for many years, but the immediate cause of her death was a stroke of paralysis which came on her last Friday. She would have been 73 years of age on the 9th of next Feb. She was a kind mother and a good neighbor, and was always held in high esteem by those she [sic] became acquainted with her. She leaves her husband, one son, A. C. Pautlitz, the mail clerk, and one daughter, both of whom live here. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Henry Steffens, who lately removed from this place to Luckey, O.
         The funeral will be held from the St. Thomas Episcopal Church this (Friday) afternoon, at 2 o'clock, Rev. Mr. Broadhead officiating. Interment will be made in Lakeview cemetery.
