  • The following appeared on 27 March 1929 in the Lockport Union-Sun & Journal: (Buffalo) A victim of monoxide gas poisoning, Fred Lederer, 63, 400 Guilford street, was found lying dead under his car in the garage at the rear of his home yesterday.
         It is believed that Lederer succumbed to the deadly fumes while he was repairing his machine Saturday afternoon. The discovery was made by his wife.
