- The following appeared on 14 November 1928 in the Buffalo Evening News: (Lockport, Nov. 13) Two Lockport homes were robbed Monday night of clothing, furs and silverware, worth about $1100. The losses were not discovered until this morning when the police were notified. The goods taken were found on the lower floor of the homes while the occupants of the houses slept undisturbed on the upper floor.
The biggest haul was made at the home of John G. McKay, 633 Lucust street. At this place three coats, two fox fur neckpieces, a silver tray, coffee percolator, and a woman's purse containing a small sum of money were taken. Two of the coats were women's garments, one a squirrel fur coat. The total loss is estimated at $900.
