  • The following appeared on 17 February 1912 in The Dallas Morning News: (Austin, Feb. 16) Associate Justice Prendergast of the Court of Criminal Appeals was called to Waco today by the sudden death of his son, Davis Prendergast. The young man recently married Miss Eva Glover of that city, and was well known in the community and in Austin, where he was prominent as a university student, captain and star on the football team.
  • The following appeared on 17 February 1912 in The Dallas Morning News: (Waco, Feb. 16) After an illness which assumed a serious phase only a few days ago, Davis M. Prendergast, eldest son of Hon. A. C. Prendergast, Associate Justice of the Court of Criminal Appeals, died suddenly this morning at 4 o'clock at the residence of his father-in-law, C. J. Glover, 1219 Washington street. Death was due to an attack of acute indigestion. The funeral will take place at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning.
         The parents of the young man, Judge and Mrs. Prendergast, arrived here thirty minutes after their son had passed away. Deceased was married Nov. 23 last to Miss Eva Glover of this city, who survives him, together with three sisters and one brother--Mrs. A. L. Skinner, Oakland Cal; Mrs. J. G. Wren, Waco; Miss Emma Prendergast, Austin, and A. C. Prendergast Jr., Seattle.
