         Haven grew up in Waco, Texas. She was an outstanding student and an active participant in school and community events, receiving many honors and awards. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Texas in 1966 and her master's degree from the University of Houston in 1970.
         She married Chester Toothman in Houston on December 22, 1968, and they moved to Austin in 1969. They have been active members of their church, enthusiastic supporters of the Westlake schools, and volunteers in many community organizations. Haven was employed at the University of Texas, The Texas State Library, Eanes ISD, and retired as an Information Specialist from the Texas Library Association in 2009 after 15 years of service.
         She was preceded in death by her father.
         She is survived by her mother, her loving husband Chester, and her two cherished sons and their families: Shannon and Jennifer Toothman and their daughters Maria and Andrea of San Antonio, Texas; Jason and Vicki Toothman and their three sons Brooks, Graham and Ryder of Flower Mound, Texas. Haven is also survived by her sister Marilea Lewis and her husband Dan, her sister April Bedford, and numerous nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
         There will be a celebration of her life at the Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, Texas, on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., Reverend Lou Snead, pastor at Faith Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, August 15, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at 4:00 p.m., in the Chandler Memorial Cemetery in Chandler, Texas.
         Her family requests that donations be sent to Faith Presbyterian Church or The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.
