         Mr. Hurst died Monday in Austin.
         He was born in Anderson and was a retired businessman. He was president and director of TexWood Furniture Corp. for 30 years and was involved in the ownership and management of Transportation Enterprises Inc. and the Texas Warrant Co. He served as director of First National Bank of Anderson for many years.
         Mr. Hurst served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
         Survivors include his wife, Mary Palm Hurst of Austin; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tom Hurst of Austin and Edward P. and Denise Hurst of Heath; two daughters and a son-in-law, Betty Hurst of Austin and Sharon Hurst Hibbert and James E. Hibbert of Houston; and five grandchildren.
