  • The following appeared on 4 February 1926 in The Western New-Yorker: Claus Sierk of Attica was found dead in his bed by Mrs. Carrie Welker of Pearl street at whose home he lived Wednesday morning. He had been in his usual health and attended the movies the night before. Mr. Sierk was born in Bennington 65 years ago and had always lived in the vicinity of Attica. He was the son of Henry and Elsie Sierk. For the past four years he had been employed at the Westinghouse plant.
         Surviving are five brothers and five sisters, Jacob, Marcus and Henry Sierk of Attica, George of Kansas City, Kan., and Fred Sierk who lives on the home farm in Bennington. Mrs. Catherine Geise, Mrs. Anna Van Valkenburg and Mrs. Charles Bronson of Attica, Mrs. John Schlenker and Mrs. Charles Ripstein of Bennington.
