         He was born in Jefferson County on Jan. 23, 1918. Graduated Valedictorian from Childersburg High School, Bachelor of Arts - Birmingham Southern College, Bachelor of Divinity - Duke University. He served as a chaplain in the U.S. Army during World War II with a rank of captain. He served as a methodist minister with the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church for 44 years in the following communities: Childersburg, Gantts Quarry, Lineville, Alexander City, Lanett, Piedmont, Northport, Huntsville, Shawmut, Gadsden, Aliceyville, Sheffield, Lexington, and Gurley.
         He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Coralie Ballow Forshee, married on 12-22-43; son, James Woodrow Forshee Jr; second wife of 9 years, Addie T. Forshee married on 11-14-93; parents, Joseph J. and Ozie Hay Forshee; brother, Dewey J. Forshee; sisters, Onzell F. Massey, and Eunice F. Gorman.
         Survivors include son, Paul D. Forshee and Barbara (May) Forshee of Valrico, Fla., and their children Heather, Chad, and Scott Forshee; daughter, Joyce F. Bryant and Donald E. Bryant of Carrollton, and their children, Jamie, and Susan Bryant; daughter-in-law, Sandra (Winters Forshee) Wilde and Bill Wilde of Columbus, Ga., and her children Chris Forshee and Beth Allen, and Beth's son Brett Allen.
         Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Sylacauga. His life will be celebrated in a memorial service at 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of Northport with Rev. Bill Gandy and Rev. Al Geise officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Memory Chapel Funeral Home.
         In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Methodist churches Rev. Forshee was privileged to serve, or to the Alzheimer's Association.
