  • The following appeared on 28 January 1913 in the Schenectady Gazette: (Saratoga Springs, Jan. 27) John J. Leary, of 147 Washington street, died Sunday. He was born in Rutland, Vt., March 25, 1849, and spent his early years in Glens Falls, and had lived the greater part of his life in this village. He was a mason by trade and helped to erect many of the large buildings of Saratoga Springs. He was a charter member of the Masons union, which will attend the funeral in a body. He is survived by four sons, John P., of New York., William T., Charles R., and James H., of this village, and three sisters, Mrs. C. Finn, Mrs. James Holmes and Mrs. James Cooney, of Glens Falls. The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from his late home and at 9:30 o'clock from St. Peter's church. Burial will be in St. Peter's cemetery.
