He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on November 28, 1930, the son of the late Eugene and Catherine (Hurley) O'Connor.
         Mr. O'Connor graduated from Niagara High School and had attended Niagara University. He served with the US Army as a Master Sergeant during the Korean Conflict.
         Mr. O'Connor worked on the New York Central Railroad and later with Conrail, where he was a Train Master for over 44 years, before retiring in 1989. He was the Past President of the Niagara Falls Traffic Club. Mr. O'Connor and his wife enjoyed extensive traveling and wintering in Florida and Arizona.
         He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia R. (LaVoy) O'Connor; two sons, Dean (Patty) O'Connor of Lewiston, NY and Michael (Holly) O'Connor of Pendleton, NY; five granddaughters, Hailey, Emma, Erin, Molly and Evlyn. He is also survived by several nephews. Mr. O'Connor was the brother of the late Elizabeth Sokol.
         The family will be present at the Rhoney Funeral Home, 901 Cayuga Street, Lewiston, NY, on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 8:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM at St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY, with Msgr. Leonard E. Biniszkiewicz officiating. Memorials may be made to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 811 W Evergreen Avenue, Suite 303, Chicago, IL 60642. Entombment with Military Honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
