Emanuel Bush

- Emanuel Bush was born circa 1876 in Wheatfield, Niagara County, New York.
- He married Elizabeth Wagner, daughter of Adam Wagner and Magdalena Heitz, on 12 September 1900 in Swormville, Niagara County, New York, and Elizabeth's sister Emma married Emanuel's brother John Wesley.
- The following appeared on 11 September 1950 in the Lockport Union-Sun & Journal: Prominent residents of Pendleton, Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Bush celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sunday, when more than 100 relatives and friends attended a reception at their home.
A three-tiered wedding cake and gold candelabra adorned the table from which refreshments were served.
As a leading figure in Pendleton's government, Mr. Bush served as justice of the peace for ten years and now is chairman of the Board of Assessors. He is an insurance agent.
Since their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Bush have resided in the large white house on their 105-acre farm on Bear Ridge Road.
They attend Bear Ridge Methodist Church, where Mr. Bush serves on the Official Baord and Mrs. Bush, who was president of the Ladies' Aid for many years, now is a most active member of the Woman's Society of Christian Service.
Mr. Bush, 74, was born in the Town of Wheatfield, son of the late Mary and John Bush. Mrs. Bush, 76, the former Elizabeth Wagner, was born in Swormville, daughter of the late Lena and Adam Wagner.
Five sons were born to the couple, Carl of Buffalo, Ernest of Mapleton, Stewart of Pendleton and the late Harvey and William Bush. There are five grandchildren.
Mrs. Carrie Cutler of Getzville, maid of honor at the marriage solemnized Sept. 12, 1900 at the home of the bride's parents, in Swormville, was among the reception guests. - Emanuel Bush died on 29 August 1953 in Pendleton, Niagara County, New York.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; three sons, Carl, Ernest and Stuart; five grandchildren. Funeral from the family home, Bear Ridge Road, Tuesday at two o'clock. Interment will be in Bear Ridge cemetery.
- The following appeared on 29 August 1953 in the Lockport Union-Sun & Journal: Emanuel Bush, supervisor of the Town of Pendleton, died early today at his Bear Ridge Road home. He was 77.
Mr. Bush, a farmer and insurance agent, was well known in the area. He served for 10 years as Supervisor, 1932-42, and a number of years as assessor.
A life-long resident of Niagara County, Mr. Bush was born in the Town of Wheatfield in 1876, son of Mary and John Bush. He and his wife, Elizabeth, had been married almost 53 years. The celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sept. 12, 1950.
Mr. Bush was a member of the Bear Ridge Methodist Church.
He leaves his widow and three sons, Carl, Buffalo; Ernest, Town of Pendleton; Stewart, also of Pendleton; and five grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 o'clock in the home.
