  • The following appeared on 9 October 1943 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: (North Tonawanda) J. Wesley Bush, 65, chairman of the Niagara County Board of Supervisors, died this morning at 3:15 o'clock at his home, 195 Lincoln avenue, from a heart attack. Mr. Bush was a leading Republican in this city and had served the past 20 years as a member of the Board of Supervisors. He had held the office of chairman for the past three years.
         Mr. Bush was born in the Shawnee road, town of Wheatfield, and took up his residence in this city when a young man. He had lived here ever since. For the past 40 years he had been prominently identified with the retail milk business in the Tonawandas. He was instrumental in forming the Twin City Dairy company and was its president since its organization many years ago.
          Mr. Bush's death came as a shock to a large circle of friends and relatives throughout western New York. He had been ill only a short time.
          Mr. Bush is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Bush, a son, Donald Bush, and two brothers, Charles T. Bush, all of this city, and Emanual Bush, of Pendleton.
          Mr. Bush was a member of North Tonawanda Lodge, No. 860, B.P.O. Elks, and of Electric City Lodge, No. 663,I.O.O.F.
          The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Wattengel funeral home, 307 Oliver street. The Rev. Joe B. Maffett will officiate. Interment will be in Acacia Park cemetery.
  • The following appeared on 1 November 1943 in The News: (Lockport) The estate of John Wesley Bush, North Tonawanda, milk dealer and former chairman of the Board of Supervisors, was listed nominally at $10,000 and upwards personal property and $7,500 real estate in a petition for letters of administration filed at the surrogate's office here by his son, Donald A. Bush, 189 Lincoln avenue, North Tonawanda.
         Supervisor Bush died Oct. 9, leaving his son and his wife, Emma E. Bush, 195 Lincoln avenue, North Tonawanda, as distributees.
  • The following appeared on 20 November 1950 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: A member of the Niagara County Board of Supervisors for the last six years, Donald A. Bush, 44, of 189 Lincoln avenue, North Tonawanda, died early yesterday at his home of a heart attack.
         Manager of the Twin City dairy, Mr. Bush was first appointed to the Board of Supervisors in 1944 to fill the unexpired term of his father, John Wesley Bush. The latter was formerly a co-owner of the dairy which his son managed.
         Mr. Bush was born in North Tonawanda and educated in schools in that city. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Lodge 246 of Free and Accepted Masons and the Elks. His last important act as supervisor was to recommend a branch office of the Niagara county clerk's office in North Tonawanda.
         In addition to his wife, Phyllis Rowe Bush, Mr. Bush is survivd by his son, John W., and his mother, Mrs. Edmond Shipston.
         Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Wattengel Funeral home, 307 Oliver street, with the Rev. G. L. Burghard, pastor of the Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be in Acacia Park cemetery.
