- The following appeared on 9 March 1943 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Mrs. Nellie Ford, 71, of Wilson, N. Y., visiting yesterday at the home of her brother-in-law, Charles W. Ford, of 1143 Willow avenue, slipped and fell on the steps of the Ford home last night at 8:20 o'clock and struck her head on the icy sidewalk. She died a half hour later in Memorial hospital of a fractured skull. Dr. Harry R. Emes, coroner, issued an accidental death certificate.
A resident of Wilson for many years, Mrs. Ford was a native of Canada. She is survived by the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Adorno Johnson and Howard Ford, both of Wilson; Mrs. Ollie Myers, Mrs. Frank Umholtz and Albert Ford, both [sic] of this city; Mrs. Glenn Knapp, of Ransomville, N. Y., and Clarence Ford, of Detroit, Mich. Surviving also are a sister, Mrs. George Sheldon, of Portland, Ore., and five brothers, Benjamin and James Barber, of Markdale, Ont., Elmer and Edward Barber, of Bindloss, Alberta, Canada, and William Ford, of Portland, Ore.
Funeral services will be held from the home of Charles W. Ford, 1143 Willow avenue, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. E. E. Franklin, pastor of the Wilson Baptist church, officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood cemetery.
