She was a leader in the Cub Scouts, Brownie Scouts and Girl Scouts. Her husband, George A. Ware Jr., died in 1973. She leaves a son, George A. III of Whittier, N.C; three daughters, Nancy M. Griest of Columbiaville, Mich., Susan E. Ware of Washington, D.C., and Cynthia "Lennie" Ware of Pelham; a sister, Genvieve Newcombe of Canada; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Amherst Funeral Home is in charge. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 53 Capital Drive, West Springfield, MA 01089, or the Hospice of Hampshire County, 7 Denniston Place, Northampton, MA 01060.
