Gray, at the Presbyterian church of Castleton, in the presence of many witnesses, Mr. Simon Spangle of Hopewell to Miss Harriet Fisher of Seneca. At the same time and place, Mr. Philip Spangle of Hopewell to miss Mary E. Otley of Castleton. Also at the same time and place, Mr. Charles Wormley of Hopewell Centre to Miss Delia Ann Posten of Castleton.
- He married Harriet Fisher, daughter of Christopher Fisher and Nancy Hammond, on 17 October 1856 in Castleton, Ontario County, New York.
- Harriet Fisher became a widow at his death.
- Simon Spangle died on 15 April 1913 in Hopewell, Ontario County, New York.
- He was interred at Chapman Cemetery, Ontario County, New York.
- The following appeared on 18 April 1913 in the Geneva Daily Times: (Hopewell Center) The funeral of Simon Spangle, who passed away at his home on Spangle street Tuesday morning were held from his late home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services were conducted by Rev. E. E. Grosh, pastor of the Presbyterian church of Seneca Castle, with interment in Chapman Cemetery.
The deceased was 78 years old and had been a life long resident of this town and was a respected citizen.
For several years Mr. Spangle had been in failing health but for only a few days past, had been confined to his bed.
He is survived by his wife and a twin brother, Philip Spangle, also of Spangle street and several nieces and nephews.
