- He married Emma Nussbaum, daughter of Emanuel Gottlieb Nussbaum and Louisa Haeberle, on 22 January 1921 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, New York, at the home of the bride's father, by license issued the 21st, with Rev. Herman Brezing officiating. Witnesses were the bride's brother George F. Nussbaum and her sister Lottie F. Taylor.
- The following appeared on 28 January 1921 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: A very pretty wedding took place Saturday, Jan. 22, at 10 a. m., at the home of E. Nussbaum, No. 1641 Tenth street, when his daughter, Miss Emma Nussbaum, was united in marriage to Henry Sonnenberg of Mount Clemens, Mich. The Rev. Herman Brezing performed the ceremony. Mrs. M. W. Taylor and George Nussbaum, sister and brother of the bride, were the attendants. After a western trip Mr. and Mrs. Sonnenberg will reside in Mount Clemens.
