  • The following appeared on 20 April 1965 in The New York Times: Ingo F. Hartmann, a retired teacher and a former ranking tennis player, died Saturday at Trafalgar Hospital. He was 84 years old and lived at 205 East 78th Street. /P/ Mr. Hartmann taught in the city school system for more than 50 years before he retired in 1951. He won the New York State singles tennis championship in 1901. He was graduate of City College, class of 1900. /P/ He is survived by his widow, Lillian, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Phyllis M. Rand.
