Private burial will be in Swan Lake Cemetery Peoria, IL. /P/ Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. /P/ Dave was born September 11, 1934 in Peoria, son of Louis Michael Nauth and LaVona Muriel Wood. He married Frances F. Bavis, also of Peoria, on June 7, 1957. He graduated from Bradley University in 1956 and went to work as a design engineer for Caterpillar Tractor Co for 36 years. The family moved to Decatur in 1966, and he retired in 1992. /P/ Dave coached Little League baseball and youth soccer teams while raising three boys. His hobbies and interests included golf, stained glass, travel, music and gardening. He participated in a prostate support group, Us Too. /P/ Surviving are his wife, Fran; sons, Zachary Alan of Chicago, Daniel Alan & wife Paige of Peoria, Aaron Alan of Ashland, OR; grandchildren Connor Alan and Hannah Maxine; daughter-in-law Ileana Gomez of Baton Rouge, LA; and niece Cristin Winegard of Cuba, NY. /P/ He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and an infant daughter. /P/ Memorial contributions are preferred to flowers, and can be made to Roberto Clemente Sports City, founded by the Pittsburgh Pirates star and humanitarian to serve underprivileged children, at: GPO 364 571, San Juan, Puerto Rico 00936-4571.
