  • George Dexheimer was born on 2 May 1893 in Millhome, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin.
  • Herman Dexheimer and Anna Happel appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1900 in Schleswig, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. Other members of the household included George Dexheimer, Henry J. Dexheimer.
  • He married Gertrude Zimmerman, daughter of John Zimmerman, on 19 July 1924 in Elkhart Lake, Sheboygan County, Wisconsis.
  • The following appeared on 21 July 1924 in the Sheboygan Press-Telegram: Miss Gertrude Zimmermann, daughter of Mrs. John Zimmermann, of the town of Rhine, and George Dexheimer, son of Herman Dexheimer, of Kiel, were united in marriage on Saturday at Elkhart Lake by the Rev. F. Sippel. Miss Ana Zimmerman and Gilbert Dexheimer attended the couple.
  • The following appeared on 6 August 1930 in The Manitowoc Herald-Times: Herman Dexheimer, 71, well known Kiel resident, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Arthur Faber, yesterday. Burial will be Friday afternoon from the Faber home, and interment at Rockville Cemetery.
         He was born May 3, 1859, the son of Anton and Elizabeth Dexheimer, in the town of Rhine, Sheboygan county, where he grew to manhood. On November 22, 1885, he was married to Miss Anna Hatter, also of the town of Rhine, and the couple settled on a farm at Millhome where the family lived until 1915. Mr. Dexheimer also operated a sawmill at Millhome for twenty years and was a carpenter by trade. His wife preceded him in death on March 2, 1908.
         One daughter, Minnie, died thirty-eight years ago, and the children who survive are Mrs. Arthur Faber of Kiel, George Dexheimer of Elkhart Lake, and Henry, who is a patient at the Memorial hospital at Mendota. Three brothers, Anton of Sherwood, William of Sheboygan, and Edward Dexheimer of Marshfield, two sisters, Mrs. George Rothman of Kiel and Mrs. Peter Schurer of Marshfield, and three grandchildren also survive.
  • George Dexheimer died on 14 April 1969 at age 75 in Sheboygan, Wisconsis, at St. Nicholas Hospital.
  • Gertrude Zimmerman became a widow at his death.
  • He was interred at Saint George Cemetery, Elkhart Lake, Sheboygan County, Wisconsis.
  • The following appeared on 16 April 1969 in the Sheboygan Press: George J. Dexheimer, 75, of 264 E. Maple St., Elkhart Lake, died Monday evening at St. Nicholas Hospital. He had been a patient there for one day. Born on May 2, 1893 at Millhome, he was a son of the late Herman and Anna Happel Dexheimer. He attended the district school and Kiel High School. On July 19, 1924 he married the former Gertrude Zimmermann of the Town of Rhine at Elkhart Lake. After residing in New Holstein several years, the couple has lived in Elkhart Lake since 1926. Mr. Dexheimer was an employe fo the H. G. Weber Co., Kiel, until his retirement in August, 1959. He was a World War I veteran, serving in Germany and France. He was a member of the Kasper-Wilkens-Beckley American Legion Post 99 of Kiel.
         Survivors include his wife; one son, John H. of Watertown, Conn., three grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Arthur Faber of Kiel. One sister and one brother preceded him in death.
