• The following appeared on 1 March 1937 in The Binghamton Press: Boy Scouts of the Vestal district today announced performance dates of their minstrel troupe which will take to the stage seven times in an effort to raise funds for the National Jamboree fund. /P/ Proceeds from the minstrel performances will be used to send five scouts of the Vestal district to the National Jamboree to be held in Washington, D. C., this summer. /P/ One scout from each troop located at Vestal, Vestal Center, Apalachin, Willow Point and Ross Corners will be given the trip with all expenses paid. /P/ Howard Grey and Leon Roff, the latter a former professional minstrel performer, are directing the show which has its opening Thursday night in the Grange Hall. . . .

Arthur Salin, pastor of the Vestal Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott, at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9.
