- George Walter Weiler Jr. was born on 29 November 1915 in Fargo, Cass County, North Dakota.

Weiler, who have just received news of the advent of a new baby boy in the home of their son, George, who lives in Fargo, North Dakota. Should the young heir inherit his father's musical genius there will be added a prominent musician to the music world.

- The following appeared on 17 July 1946 in the Lincoln State Journal: Miss Josephine Wilson, daughter of Mrs. Lula R. Wilson of Nebraska City became the bride of Ellis A. Hicks, son of Mrs. J. I. Hicks and the late Mr. Hicks of Lamoni, Ia., Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride's mother, in front of the fireplace, which was decorated with huckleberry green and baskets of gladioli. Rev. R. C. Rodgers of the Episcopal church performed the ceremony in the presence of 50 guests.
The bride wore a gown of ivory satin trimmed in Belgian lace which had been worn by her mother when she was married, and a fingertip veil of tulle was held by orange blossoms. Her matron of honor, Mrs. George W. Weiler, Fairbury, was gowned in blue chiffon. Both the bride and her matron of honor carried cascade bouquets of gladioli. Marjorie Wilson was flower girl.
William J. Booher of Missouri Valley, Ia., served as best man.
A reception followed the ceremony.
Mrs. Hicks is a graduate of Iowa State college at Ames, Ia., and Mr. Hicks also received his G. S. degree from Iowa State college.
August Eiche attended the wedding from Lincoln. - George Walter Weiler Jr. became a widower at the 26 September 2003 death of his wife Margaret Bilby.

Mr. Weiler was born Nov. 29, 1915, at Fargo, N.D., to George Sr. and Elizabeth (McCoy) Weiler.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Weiler, on Sept. 26, 2003.
Survivors of the immediate family include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sally and Tim Browne of Oakdale, Minn., and Nancy and Earl Wajdyk of Olympia, Wash.
Additional survivors include six grandchildren, Josh Browne, Kate Browne, Timothy Priebe, Sarah Priebe, Daniel Priebe and Michael Priebe, and seven great-grandchildren.
George grew up in Fargo N.D., and Indianola, Iowa. He graduated from high school in Indianola. He also received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University. In his career he was an Electrical Engineer.
He married Margaret Bilby in December of 1945, at Fairbury. The couple lived in Fairbury from 1945 to 1949; South Bend, Ind., from 1949 to 1968; Maitland, Fla., from 1968 to 1985; and Grand Island from 1985 to 2003.
He enjoyed computers and photography. He was an avid reader and was especially interested in physics, astronomy and space exploration. When he moved to Minnesota he concentrated on photography and spent many happy hours exploring Minneapolis and St. Paul with his caregiver and friend, Emelia Daniels. He never lost his great curiosity.
He was also preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth; father, George; and a grandchild, Christopher Priebe.
