Born in Warsaw, N.Y., he came here in 1980 from Livonia, Mich. He was a sales promotion manager for the Detroit Free Press. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a 1940 graduate of the University of Michigan and a member of the alumni association and the Adcrafters Club of Detroit. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Mainlands 5 golf league. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara May Scrivener, Birmingham, Mich., and Judy Friske, West Bloomfield, Mich; a son, Richard W.
