  • The following appeared on 6 September 1891 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Mrs. Ellen F. Mayle, relict of the late John C. Mayle, died at Pletcher's Corners Sunday morning, aged a little over 85 years. She was born in Strasburg, Germany, and with her husband, came to America in 1850, and in 1856 settled at Pletcher's Corners. She leaves two sons, Louis F. Mayle of Niagara Falls and John C. Mayle, and three daughters, Mrs. L. Miller of Chicago, Mrs. C. Wagner of Buffalo, and Sophia Mayle of Pletcher's Corners. The funeral was observed Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. J. H. Asbeck officiating.

Mayle occurred October 22 at his residence in Pletcher's Corners, where he had resided 57 years. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Ami Pletcher, and three sons, Louis, John and Martin Mayle, and a sister, Miss Sophia Mayle. The funeral will take place Friday afternoon.
