  • The following appeared on 1 June 1903 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: John Ruopp of No. 733 West Pierce Avenue, died yesterday morning at 5 oclock of old age. Deceased was one of the best known and most respected German residents of the city. He was 76 years of age and for over forty years has been a resident of this city, coming from Germany in the days of the old village of Suspension Bridge.
         The surviving relatives are a wife, two daughters, Miss Lucy Ruopp and Mrs. Henry L. Colpoys and two step children, Mrs. A. Schleisinger and Mr. Jacob R. Kelberer.
         The funeral will be observed tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the German Zion's Lutheran Church. The Rev. F. R. Hoffmann will officiate and the interment will be made in Oakwood cemetery.

  • The following appeared on 12 August 1915 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: [Died] In this city, at St. Mary's hospital, Wednesday, August 11, 1915, Lucy Roupp, aged 46 years; she is survived by her mother, Mrs. John Roupp, one sister, Mrs. Henry Colpoys, and one brother, Jacob Kelberer. Funeral will be held from the home of her sister, 2113 Main street, Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and at 3 o'clock from German Zion Lutheran church, Rev. Miller officiating; burial Oakwood cemetery.
  • The following appeared on 11 August 1915 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Miss Lucy Ruopp, 46 years old, and for many years a clerk in Beir Brothers' Falls street store, died at noon in St. Mary's Hospital, where she had been a patient for just two weeks. Her serious illness was at first noticed about two months ago, when she was forced to give up her position.
         Miss Ruopp ws a life-long resident of the city and known as a most estimable woman. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ruopp of Pierce avenue. Her mother still survives her, as does also a sister, Mrs. Henry L. Colpoys, and a half brother, Jacob Kelberer. Miss Ruopp was a regular attendant at the Zion Lutheran church, a woman of true Christian spirit and is mourned by a wide circle of friends. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at No. 2113 Main street.
