• Alice E. Wright was born circa 1886 in Pennsylvania.
• She married William McVittie, son of William Sharpe McVittie and Clara Dell Sherwood, circa 1906.

• William McVittie and Alice E. Wright appeared in the US federal census of 1 April 1930 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, New York, at 464 South Street. Other members of the household included Russell Lee MacVittie.
• The following appeared on 6 March 1953 in The Niagara Falls Gazette: Mr. and Mrs. Russell L. MacVittie have returned to their home in Marietta, O., after spending the weekend as guests of Mr. MacVittie's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William MacVittie, Sixth street, and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Parks, Lockport street. Their daughter, Mary Ann MacVittie, who accompanied them here, is remaining with her grandparents for a week.
• Alice E. Wright became a widow at the 30 August 1955 death of her husband William McVittie.
• The following appeared on 12 May 1956 in The Niagara Falls Gazette: William McVittie, formerly of 626 Sixth St., who died Aug. 30, 1955, left an estate set nominally at upwards $1,000 personal property. The widow, Alice E. McVittie was named beneficiary and executrix.
• Alice E. Wright died on 26 February 1957 in Niagara County, New York.
• She was interred at Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, Niagara County, New York.
• The following appeared on 27 February 1957 in The Niagara Falls Gazette: Mrs. Alice E. McVittie, 71, of 626 Sixth St., died yesterday (Feb. 26, 1957) at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital after a two months' illness.
       Mrs. McVittie was born in this city. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and its Women's Assn.
       Surviving are two sons, Russell L. McVittie, Marietta, Ohio, and Arthur R. McVittie, Glen Farris, W. V; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
       Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Gridley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles C. Berryhill officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
       The family said that donations to the American Cancer Society will be acceptable as tributes.
• The following appeared on 7 March 1957 in The Niagara Falls Gazette: Alice E. McVittie, who died Feb. 26, left $500 to a cousin, Laura Ammerman, 2259 Pierce Ave., and $500 to a daughter-in-law, Bernice McVittie, Seattle, Wash.
       The rest of the estate was left as follows: 40 per cent to Russell L. MacVittie, Marietta, Ohio, a son; 40 per cent to Arthur R. MacVittie, Glen Ferris, W. Va., a son; 10 per cent to a grandson, Donald R. McVittie, Seattle, Wash; and 10 per cent to a granddaughter, Barbara McVittie Feldt, Saline, Mich.
       The sons were named executors.
