She was preceded in death by her husband, Herold (Hank) James Weiler, Jr. She is survived by: a daughter, Virginia Redding Weiler and her partner, Claudine Legault, a son, Herold (Harry) James Weiler, III, and his wife, Elizabeth Sadler Weiler all of Winston-Salem and two grandchildren: Shannon Noel Weiler of Atlanta and Christopher Lynn Weiler of Asheville.
She was born in Asheboro, North Carolina in 1917. She made her home in Asheboro until the mid-1930's when she attended Salem College. She graduated from Salem in 1938. In 1942 she and Hank Weiler were married and lived with their children on the east and west coasts of the United States until 1959. In 1959 she and her family returned to Asheboro and lived there until 1997 when she and her husband moved to Salemtowne. She was known by friends and family as a loving wife, a devoted mother, a caring friend, a gracious lady, and a lover of the arts, travel and reading.
Following a memorial service at First United Methodist Church in Asheboro to be held on Wednesday, July 12 at 11 a.m., the family will greet friends in the church parlor. The service will be conducted by the Dr. Don Haynes and the Reverend George Roberson.
The family will also greet friends in the Living Room of the Vogler Building on Tuesday, July 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Salemtowne Retirement Community, which is accessed from Bethabara Park Blvd. in Winston-Salem.
