Temperamental cows proved too much for many of the 40 milk maids who entered the contest to select the champion milk maid of the Pacific northwest. Katherine Boge of Hillsboro, after three minutes of furious milking, won the silver trophy presented by T. B. Wilcox, president of the exposition. She won in addition $15 in cash. . . . [photo caption] Few people can get more milk out of a cow in three minutes than Catherine Boge, Hillsboro miss, who won the livestock show grand prize yesterday with a bucketful weighing 12 pounds and 12 ounces at the end of the contest.
