Mary Franklin appeared in the US federal census of 15 April 1910 in Cuero, DeWitt County, Texas, at Center Street. Other members of the household included Jasper Parks, Versa Parks, Percy Parks and Clara E. Parks. enumerated next to the household of her daughter Minnie. Mary is identified as Mary Davis, age 40, divorced, with seven of nine children living. Son Joe Albert Mathis, born in 1909, is unaccountably absent from the household.
He was employed at farm work, according to the 1910 census.
Jasper Parks registered for the draft on 5 June 1917 in DeWitt County, Texas, while single and living in Cuero, employed doing farm work by Steve Robins.
Jasper Parks, residing in Cuero, DeWitt County, was inducted there into the US Army as a private on 18 July 1918, and served in the 165th Depot Brigade to discharge 7 December 1918.
He was a tailor, according to the 1930 census.
Jasper Parks died on 28 April 1939 at age 44 in San Diego County, California.
