Court st., died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 1958, in Rockford Memorial hospital after a long illness. Born Jan. 12, 1895, in Ellery, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Stroup. Lived 16 years in Rockford, coming here from Abion. Married to the former Ethel Rigg in Ellery June 17, 1926. Employed as a chemist by Central Illinois Electric and Gas company for more than 30 years. Veteral of world War I, serving in Company A of the 113th engineers in France and Germany. A lifetime deacon in Central Christian church and member of Mermitage Masonic lodge 356 in Albion and Daniel American Legion post. Attended Tri-State college, Angola, Ind. Survivors include: widow; a foster daughter, Mrs. Paul Wright, Terre Haute, Inc., and several nieces and nephews. Services at 10 a.m. Saturday in Long-Klontz Funeral Home, 420 Park ave., with the Rev. Max R. Hickerson, pastor of Central church, officiating, and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Ingram Funeral Home, Albion. Friends may call at Long-Klontz funeral home from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
