- The following appeared on 25 May 1943 in the Lockport Union-Sun & Journal: White flowers and cathedral candles decorated the altar of Emmanuel Methodist Church, when Miss Eileen Loraine Stone, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert P. Stone, became the bride of Russell John Richards, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Richards, Saturday evening. The Rev. Paul Morrison officiated at the ceremony.
Harland W. D. Smith presided at the organ preceding the ceremony and e. LeVan Ortt sang two selectins, "At Dawning" and "I Love Thee."
The bride entered the church with her father, who gave her in marriage. Her gown was an original design of bush pink satin, fashioned on princess lines. The fitted bodice had a sweetheart neckline and tight sleeves, ending in points over the hands. A panel of beaded embrodery extended from the shoulders to the hemline and the skirt fell into a train. Her finger-tip0 veil of pink illusion fell from a tiara of pearlized orange blossoms. She carried an arm bouquet of white roses, sweet peas and stephanotis, and wore a single strand of pearls, the gift of the groom.
Miss Zola Wilson, maid of honor, wore a gown of aqua satin and net, with fitted bodice and ??? net skirt. Her headdress was of double ruchings of net. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses, sweet peas and baby's breath. The bridesmaids, Miss Mary McHenry of Toronto, cousin of the bride, and Miss Grace Richards of Buffalo, sister of the groom, wore gowns and headdresses identical to that of the maid of honor. Their bouquets were of pink roses, sweet peas and baby's breath. They wore rhinestone bracelets, gifts of the bride.
Miss Sally Draper, the flower girl, wore a floor-length dress of yellow taffeta with tiny bows of bue velvet down the back. She wore yellow flowers in her hair and carried a basket of Spring flowers.
Frederick Barter of Johnstown was best man and ushers were Allan Stone of Buffalo and Stewart Sharts.
The bride's mother chose a navy dress, trimmed with blue lace. Her corsage was of white gardenias and talisman roses. Mrs. Richards' dress was a gray and chartreuse print and her corsage was of yellow roses and sweet peas.
A buffet supper was served to 89 guests in the East Lounge of the Park Hotel. The bride's four-tiered cake centered the serving table with ivory candles in silver holders. Small tables were decorated with Spring flowers.
Mr. and Mrs. Richards left for a trip to Boston. The bride chose for traveling a suit of wood violet with navy and white accessories. Upon their return the couple will reside at 69 Niagara St.
Out-of-town gueses were from Toronto, Niagara Falls, Buffalo and Johnstown.
