- She married Fred Rosengren, son of Andreas Rosengren and Anna Stina Larsdotter, circa 1888.
- Amelia May became a widow at the 6 September 1931 death of her husband Fred Rosengren.
- The following appeared on 8 September 1931 in the Lead Daily Call: Fred Ross, well-known resident of the Black Hills region since 1883, succumbed to a short illness at his ranch home near Arpan, Butte county, Sunday morning at 2:30 o'clock. Mr. Ross is survived by his widow, a sister, Mrs. Anna Davies, of Lead, a brother living in Sweden, and a brother-in-law, Henry may, of Lead. [:CR;] Mr. Ross Came to the Black Hills in 1883 from Iron Mountain, Mich. For a number of years he was employed by the Homestake Mining company here. In 1890 he moved to a homestead in the vicinity of Arpan and has since made his home there. During his life he was elected four times to the house of representatives from Butte county. [:CR;] He was a Lead and Black Hills member of all the branches of Masonry. [:CR;] Funeral services are to be held here tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Masonic temple under the auspices of the local Masonic lodge. Interment will be made in the Masonic cemetery in West Lead.
- The following appeared on 1 March 1946 in the Lead Daily Call: Mrs. Fred Ross entertained at a noon luncheon today in the Highland hotel for her nephews, Ross and Charles Davies and their families, of Huron, S. D., and Fredonia, Arizona.
- Amelia May died on 28 May 1948 at age 80 in Los Angeles County, California.
- The following appeared on 30 May 1948 in the Lead Daily Call: Mrs. Amelia Ross, widow of the late Fred Ross, an early day resident of Lead, died at 5:30 p. m. Friday in Los Angeles, Calif., according to word received by lead relatives. Her death was the outcome of a short acute illness, although she had been in failing health the past five years.
The body is being shipped to Lead for funeral services and interment in the family lot in the Lead Masonic cemetery. Her nephew and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grady, are accompanying the body, the funeral party having left Los Angeles Saturday, Lead relatives were advised.
St. Louis, Mo., was the birthplace of mrs. Ross on July 17, 1867. She was married in Lead in the early '80s, to Fred Ross, and they lived in the house now occupied by the F. & M. Cafe, until they moved to a ranch near Arpan, where they homesteaded for many years. Mr. Ross died in 1931 and his body is interred in the Lead Masonic cemetery.
Mrs. Ross continued to make her home in Lead since her husband's death until she went to California early in January, accompanying her nephew and his wife, to make her home.
Surviving her are one sister, mrs. Augusta Grady of Lead, two nieces, Mrs. William Harper and Mrs. Thomas Watt, of Lead, and three nephews, Richard Grady of Lead, and Fred and Henry Grady of Los Angeles.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
