• The following appeared on 29 October 1946 in The Abilene Reporter-News: (Coleman, Oct. 29) Funeral services for Mrs. Fronie Elizabeth Howe, 85, of Burkett, were held Sunday at the Burkett Church of Christ, with the Rev. J. P. Salyer officiating. Burial was in the Howe cemetery.
       Mrs. Howe, born in 1861, in Caldwell county, moved to Coleman county in 1875. She was a member of the Burkett Church of Christ for 55 years. She died in Austin Saturday.
       Survivors include a son, Oscar Howe of Amarillo, two daughters, Mrs. W. A. Smith of Paint Rock and Mrs. L. A. Hill of Burkett, 17 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
