Coburn, 68 years old, died at 4:30 o'clock this morning at his home, No. 449 Fifth street, after a long period of suffering from typhoid fever. Mr. Coburn has been a resident of this city for a great many years and the news of his death will be received with deep sorrow by his many friends. He wasn an engineer and the funeral services, which will be conducted on Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the house, will be under the auspices of Electric City Association No. 37, New York N. A. S. R. The interment will be in Riverdale Cemetery. The deceased is survived by a wife and three daughters, Sadie, Catharine and Nettie.
  • The following appeared on 24 July 1904 in The Buffalo Courier: (Niagara Falls, July 23) Sylvester C. Coburn, aged 67 years, died at 4:30 o'clock this morning at his home, No. 449 5th Street, of typhoid fever, after several weeks illness. He was one of the oldest residents and is survived by a widow and three daughters. The funeral will be Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, the interment to be in Riverdale Cemetery. As Mr. Coburn was a stationary engineer, the local lodge of that union will have charge of the funeral.
