- Mildred Carolina Oxner was born on 27 July 1899 in Buffalo, Erie County, New York.
- She married Clinton Duane Brewer, son of Alfred Duane Brewer and Mary Shad Davis, circa February 1918.
- Mildred Carolina Oxner became a widow at the 17 September 1918 death of her husband Clinton Duane Brewer.
- The following appeared on 7 October 1918 in the Lockport Union-Sun & Journal: Clinton Brewer of McCue Avenue Fell Sept. 17th. The fifth Lockport soldier to make the supreme sacrifice for his country on the battle fields of France and the fifteenth to die while in the military service was Private Clinton D. Brewer, whose wife, Mrs. Mildred C. Brewer of No. 8 McCue Ave., received a War Department telegram Saturday night announcing that he was "killed in action" in France on Sept. 17th.
Private Brewer was one of the drafted men and left Lockport on April 3rd last for Camp Dix, N.J., where he received his preliminary training before sailing overseas. He was a member of Company G. 309th Infantry and was in action with that outfit when he fell victim to a Hun shell.
The young man was born in the town of Lockport 22 years ago. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Brewer of the South Transit road. Before entering the service he was employed as a farm hand by his father.
Private Brewer was married two months before he was inducted into the service. Mrs. Brewer is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Oxner of No. 8 McCue Ave. She lives with her parents.
Besides his wife and parents, Private Brewer leaves two sisters and one brother. - Mildred Carolina Oxner died on 2 March 1986 at age 86 in Lockport, Niagara County, New York.
