  • She married Raymond Henry Wilson, son of Peter McIn. Wilson and Louisa Burfeind, on 4 April 1914 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, New York, at Zion Lutheran Church, by license issued the same day, with Rev. Herman Brezing officiating. Witnesses were Mr. and Mrs. John Schwenkbeck.

  • She married Peter Mackntosh Wilson, son of Peter McIn. Wilson and Louisa Burfeind. Although no hard evidence has yet been found, there is little doubt that Peter Wilson married his brother Raymond's widow, Julia Schmelz, sometime between 1935 and 1958..
  • The following appeared on 11 January 1954 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Mrs. Louise Hathaway, 88, of 833 Pierce Ave., this city, died yesterday at Memorial Hospital.
         Born in Buffalo, she was a resident of this city for the last 55 years. She was a member of the Ida Saxton McKinley Tent, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
         Surviving are a son, Peter M. Wilson, and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Julia Wilson, both of this city; and a niece, Miss Marie A. Juspin, Buffalo.
         Funeral Services will be held tomorrow at 2 p. m., at the Beatty Funeral Home with the Rev. Rosebud Vogel Williamson of the First White Rose Center of Psychic Truth officiating.
         Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Mausoleum.
  • The following appeared on 7 July 1954 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: A gross estate of $30,953.07 was left by Louise Hathaway, who died in this city last Jan. 10, according to a state tax appraisal on file today at the surrogate's office, Lockport. The net estate amounted to $28,973.27.
         The beneficiaries are a [daughter]-in-law, Julia Wilson, 833 Pierce Ave; a nephew, Peter M. Wilson, 336 Seventh St., and a son, Peter M. Wilson, 833 Pierce Ave. State tax on the estate totaled $184.72.

  • Julia Schmelz died on 16 April 1958 at age 70 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, New York, at 1335 Michigan Avenue at her residence.
  • She was interred at Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, Niagara County, New York.
  • The following appeared on 17 April 1958 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Mrs. Julia Schmelz Wilson, 71, of 1335 Michigan Ave., died at her home Wednesday night (April 16, 1958) after a long illness.
         Born in Galeton, Pa., she lived in Niagara Falls about 40 years. 
         Survivors include her husband, Peter M. Wilson; a sister, Mrs. Louise McDermitt, Buffalo; a brother, Richard Schmelz, Long Island; and several nieces and nephews.
         Funeral services will be conducted at the Beatty Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. William Youngman officiating. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery.
